For our next free NSW Division webinar we're delighted to be hosting a presentation by hair stylist and educator Julie Kleine (Colors With Chemistry, Georgia, USA) on the art and science of crafting hair colour. Registration for this free webinar is open now for Colour Society of Australia members and will open on September 7 for nonmembers.

"If you’re passionate about the study of color, this webinar will take you on a fascinating journey into the often-overlooked world of hair color artistry. Far from simply applying dye, hairdressers must navigate a complex integration of art, science and creativity to achieve the perfect color results for their clients. In this webinar, we’ll peel back the layers of what it takes to create beautiful, purposeful, and predictable color transformations.

You’ll explore the intricate science of the hair fiber itself, the chemistry behind artificial hair color, and the frameworks that hairdressers use to decide which products will best achieve the desired outcome. This deep dive into hair color theory will reveal the meticulous process that turns a simple color request into a sophisticated, calculated result.

Many people might assume that hair coloring is straightforward, yet there’s an entire world of knowledge and skill that goes into each decision. This webinar aims to dismantle the notion of “just a hairdresser” by showcasing the art and science required to master hair color. Whether you’re a color enthusiast or a professional in the field, you’ll walk away with a new appreciation for the expertise that hairdressers bring to their craft and the vital role they play in the world of color". -  Julie Kleine
